The Fall is my favorite time of year. I do miss the colors of the leaves on the trees from when I lived up north. There just aren't the same types of trees down south, and the fall doesn't seem the same to me down here some how. I do appreciate the cooler weather, whew!! I can't wait for it to happen again this year.

My favorite, I think, is the pumpkins in the wagon. I love the memories of fall-cool days, bright blue skies, puffy clouds, apples, fires burning, chilly evenings, sweater weather, beautiful turning leaves, crisp smell of fall, apple pie, country fairs, etc. I love fall.

ReplyDeleteThe bird with the leaves is my favorite of the blocks. She is so graceful. My favorite memory is raking mountains for leaves with friends so we could jump off the porch railing into them.....leaves clinging to clothes and hair.

ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE Autumn. I love the pumpkin block because not only does it display the rich, bold colors of Fall, for me it marks the beginning of the season where I begin to plan how to arrange and decorate my front porch with all those pumpkins! You can leave the pumpkins out there all season and that is the BEST part. I especially love that I can leave a few of the natural leaves that fall during the season and watch as they decorate the pumpkins on their own. ReplyDeleteAutumn is definitely my favorite season. It's hard to choose between the school house (I actually went to a one room schoolhouse) and the bird with the leaves. I'll choose the bird with the leaves as I love the changing colors on the trees and leaves in the fall.

My favorite block would be the wagon with the pumpkins in it. I like the fall especially having the grandkids coming to the farm to pick their pumpkins out that we grow. When the patch does not produce we go and buy some and throw them in among the others so they can find that "special" pumpkin.

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, what a great giveaway! I love the pumpkin wagon block! I grew up on a small farm in South Jersey and in the late sixties, my Dad and I grew 10 acres of pumpkins to sell at the Farmer's market in the fall. We had such a great year that year, my Dad got my Mom a dishwasher so I wouldn't have to do dishes every night after supper! It was awesome!

ReplyDeleteOh Goodness! They are all so cute, but I think the cornucopia would be my favorite. After having a hot, dry summer, seeing the beautiful colors and changes that fall brings is so refreshing and a reminder of all the beauty that God has created for us in the seasons. I decorate for fall almost as much as I do for Christmas!!

This is not my husband's favorite Fall Saturday afternoon pasttime, but he indulges me, and somebody has to help carry the pumpkins!

ReplyDeleteThe block that is my favorite is the one with the pumpkins for sale in the little red wagon. I remember being a kid and going to pick pumpkins and what fun it was. Then when I had children of my own, taking them to a family farm to pick pumpkins, follow a corn maze, feed animals and pick the best scarecrow in the contest. Wonderful memories of times that have passed too quickly!

The colors in this block are my faves! I especially like the block of the bird with the oak leaves and acorns. I remember trying to find oak leaves and acorns when I was a kid because there are so many maple trees where I live, and fewer of other kinds of trees.
