Mas d'Ousvan/Couleur Nature Fabrics and Giveaway!

Perhaps you've had the opportunity to see our newest fabric collection - Boutis!  These wonderful fabrics were designed in France and printed in India.  We now have the privilege of selling these fabrics in the United States, making it a truly international collection.

The Story of Mas d'Ousvan

            After ten years work of designing block-printed fabrics, I wanted to explore the delicate atmosphere of fine, old mansions, hidden in the mysterious landscapes of France. Thus, Mas d'Ousvan was launched in 2001, offering softer tones compared to the flamboyant colors of my block-printed linen collections.  
 
 
            Mas d'Ousvan draws inspiration from old-world French designs, as well as printed textiles from India known in France as Les Indiennes. These nostalgic styles, which have been carefully conserved in textile workshops since the 17th century, can still be discovered here and there in the old chateaus and fine mansions of our lovely France.


            With Mas d'Ousvan, I seek to pass on the soft memories of our secret resting places. Images of the delicate and precious atmosphere of the traditional farmhouses and villages of beautiful Provence invade my drawing board. Swamped with all these memories, I create new patterns or adapt an old design steeped in nostalgia. Beauty and Romance are the two young muses of this collection, filled with everlasting charm.

What a wonderful story!  These fabrics have certainly conjured up the French mansion feel that Bruno was after.  Take a look at the entire collection here.  Bruno's beautiful artistry doesn't just stop at fabrics, though.  For over 20 years, he has been designing gorgeous table linens for his personal Couleur Nature brand.  Skilled artisans print each linen by hand, so like Bruno's drawings, every finished piece is a one-of-a-kind work of art.  See his lovely work at CouleurNature.com.

  17. the only word i can use to describe this collection is EXQUISITE!!! i didn't know that i was waiting for this collection but apparently i was. i've been searching AND searching for a fabric line to create two wedding quilts for some very near and dear women that i have watched grow from infants. they will make spectacular quilts. the sad part is i have to finish their quilts before i can make one for myself... can't wait. the first collection i would use is http://www.shabbyfabrics.com/Product.aspx?ProductId=18095&CategoryId=1104

  31. Thank you so much for showing al those nice fabrics! Reminds me of our visite to the Louvre, Paris, last october. I'm think of making all kinds of France stuff, like a France bread bag...nice shoppingbag, easter stuff or perhaps some nice pillows. My choice is the last one, neutral.

    I don't have much lavender in my stash so I think I would use this to make a new tote for me. I will be going to Chicago to a quilt show in June, so it would have to be something big enough to hold my camera, wallet and any goodies I might buy! :)

    More as 20 years ago I went with a friend to Franche (The Loire, to visit castles) becuese we were 10 years friends. I want to use te fabric to make a memory quilt together with some photo's I made.

But if I must choose, I think I'd start with Morning Sky. Like so many of the other comments, I would definitely want to get enough to make a Queen Size quilt for my bedroom.
