Just yesterday we introduced a beautiful new collection by Tanya Whelan for Free Spirit Fabric: Sunshine Roses. Tanya outdid herself once again with this bright and unabashedly happy collection!

When I saw this collection, I knew our Easy as ABC & 123 pattern would pair perfectly with it!
Easy as ABC & 123
Easy as ABC & 123 is the perfect pattern for beginning quilters but is also great for an experienced quilter looking for something quick and easy. All of the blocks are the same, yet the variation in fabrics and block arrangement makes for a visually pleasing finished product. The pattern includes instructions for six sizes: Crib, Lap, Twin, Full, Queen and King. And my favorite part is that this quilt is Fat-Quarter friendly!
Depending on the look you want to achieve, you could pick just one color of our Sunshine Roses Fat Quarter Sets. Or, you could mix and match to suit your taste and decor!

Sunshine Roses - Sky Set
Sunshine Roses - Green Set
With the simple guide on the back of the pattern, you'll know exactly how many Fat Quarters you will need to complete the quilt in your desired size. If you need a few more, you can throw in a Cream Set containing four Fat Quarters. I've listed the quantities required below below for your reference:
Sunshine Roses - Cream Set
Lap: 12 FQs
Twin: 21 FQs
Full: 24 FQs
Queen: 27 FQs
King: 34 FQs
And the Sunshine Roses Fat Quarter Sets contain:
Pink Set: 7 FQs
Sky Set: 8 FQs
Green Set: 5 FQs
Cream Set: 4 FQs
What's better than one new collection by Tanya Whelan? TWO new collections! Valentine Rose is also a new collection by Tanya Whelan for Free Spirit Fabrics. I just love the details she adds in the stripes, scalloped edges and scattered hearts!
Valentine Rose would be a match made in heaven for Easy as ABC & 123, but it would also work wonderfully with a variety of other Valentine crafts and sewing projects! With less than 70 days until Christmas, Valentine's Day is right around the corner! Now is the perfect time to start planning your Valentine's Day projects and order your fabric. Once the holiday rush is over, you'll be all set to sit down, relax and work on those special items for the ones you love!
You can find this weekend project and others on our Pinterest board, Weekend Project Wednesday. Check back each week for more inspiration!
Which colorway would you choose? Or would you combine them all?
Until next time,
