Perfect Pairing | Candied Hearts, Little Sweethearts and Toscana Strawberry

We bring you a sweet treat today: Ribbon Candy Quilt Company has published a brand-new pattern just in time for Valentine's Day!

Candied Hearts is an adorable 48" x 48" wall hanging or table topper. Simple piecing and applique make it the perfect quilt for a beginner. If you've never tried your hand at applique, stitching along the straight edges and gentle curves of the hearts will be a good place to start.

If you've fallen in love with the pattern but don't know what fabric to pair with it, how about a Little Sweethearts Fat Quarter Set by Andover Fabrics? The ditsy prints will work well with the 2 1/2" squares you'll be cutting for the patchwork blocks. Cut all 64 of the squares from Little Sweethearts if you like "busy" quilts.

Or, add in some squares cut from the Toscana Strawberry colorway to seamlessly blend the light and dark tones of Little Sweethearts and calm it down a little.

You will also need a dark red for the appliqued hearts and a light-colored fabric for your background. Choose your favorite shade of Toscana Strawberry for your binding, or piece together the leftover fabrics from the Little Sweethearts Fat Quarter and Toscana Strawberry Fat Eighth sets to create a "scrappy" binding.

Ribbon Candy Quilt Company has written easy-to-understand instructions which will make assembling the 16 blocks a piece of cake. Candied Hearts will be a scrumptious addition to your Valentine decor or make a sweet gift for a loved one!

What is your favorite Valentine's Day candy or treat?
