  11. I love them all! But you got me at favorite Christmas memory...We lived in the mid-west and my grandparents were in a mobile home on the old homestead in upstate NY. Each year my grandfather sent us a huge box of homemade, soft sugar cookies (the gingerbread shaped ones with buttons and eyes of chocolate chips were my favorite). He got the recipe from a Civil War widow -- so that was a fun tidbit to know. Anyways, one year it was Christmas Eve and no box. It was already dark and there was blizzard whipping snow all around. The doorbell rang, surprising us all, and when we turned on the porch light we saw the delivery man with our box! Now we could have our cookies with hot cocoa and we could also get busy stringing the popcorn they were packed in to finish the trim on the Christmas tree (a yearly tradition we thought we'd miss that year). Thanks for the chance to relive a fun night!
