We've been having a great time with our 9th birthday celebration, and we're not even done yet! Look at the end for the biggest giveaway of the party!
Our birthday was last Friday on September 5th and we started off by asking you to invite your friends to join the party by tagging them in a comment or retweet. At the start of the party, we randomly selected two entries. On Instagram, the winner was @heytavia who invited @quiltingintherain, and on Twitter, the winner was @jlcpowers who invited @teddiechristine. All four ladies will receive a fat quarter set of Sparkle by Riley Blake Designs. Thanks for inviting your friends!
We also gave you a chance to "Pin to Win" on Pinterest. Shelley Holden was our winner and she chose Vintage Wine for her choice of a Seventh Heaven Fat Quarter Set!
Our first birthday cake was made from 80 fat quarters. We asked our Facebook followers to guess how many they thought were in our cake and the response was astounding! Over 500 people guessed and 22 guessed correctly! Of those 22, we drew one name and the winner was Emily Callender. She will receive a Pearl Bracelets - Tonals Fat Quarter Set.
During the party we had two games of skill planned to play on Instagram and Twitter. On Instagram, we showed these two pictures:
Do you know the answer? @quiltsandcutiepies guessed correctly with Autumn Lily and will receive a charm pack from the collection!
On Twitter, we had several clues lined up about a fabric designer to tweet throughout the evening. The first clue was "This designer recently took a trip to Mexico with her family." We thought it was a good, vague clue to start off with since it says absolutely nothing about her design style or even which manufacturer produces her designs! But, @jclpowers knows and reads up on her designers and correctly guessed Joanna Figueroa! We're going to send her a charm pack of Joanna's latest line, Somerset.
In between playing games with our online friends, we ate a real birthday cake and worked on our sewing projects. This was our second monthly sewing night, and it's definitely something we plan to continue! A couple of our employees are making their very first quilts so we'll be showing you their progress from month to month. We also have several experienced quilters on staff so it's a great time of fellowship and learning for everyone!

ReplyDeleteI think I have you everywhere now. Love your blog and site. Fabrics are so me.
ReplyDeleteI usually get to Shabby through the emails I receive. And from there I surf. I also see you on Facebook, but I mostly connect through the emails.
ReplyDeleteA very Happy Birthday! It is good to see something positive come out of 9/11.

ReplyDeleteCan I please work for you!!! Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a fun celebration! Congrat's to all the winners! Thanks for sharing. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like to follow you on Facebook. Also on your blog. Lots of great fabrics and inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!!!!! Thanks for celebrating with us with such awesome and generous prizes!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Congrats to all the winners. I am a blog reader, and much prefer to read all my news on them :) And if not a blog, then the newsletter.
ReplyDeleteDarn it! As I was typing my answer to the very first question on Rafflecopter, or rather I was editing mine prior to entering, my cat walked onto my desk and hit buttons and one 'entered' my answer. Little stinker. Because of that my answer for that first one will make NO sense. I'm sorry.
ReplyDeleteI will say again however, that my preferred way to follow is on a blog. Sadly it seems more and more are moving away from blogs and over to Facebook. I don't mind Facebook but it means anything that pops into someone's head they can quick jump onto Facebook and make a quick post. And they can do that all day long. Following a lot on Facebook who like to make multiple posts daily means now I have a lot more reading jumbled into little spurts of info throughout the day from many rather than to read one blog post. It takes more time and breaks my concentration on other things when needing to jump onto Facebook and read bits and pieces of ideas/thoughts from multiple people. I feel much like my son who has ADHD some days where I'm jumping all over the place and having a hard time getting things done if that makes sense.
I like to follow on FB , that way I don't miss anything . Thanks for the chance .
ReplyDeleteI'm not on either Instagram or twitter, I have enough social medias going to keep up with! LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, actually I like BL the best. Easiest to just pop in and read.
